First and foremost, do not be misguided by the term “touring” because it is frequently used in the broadest sense, but contains any number of global styles – Panoramas, Regionals, City Stays, and Tour and Cruise. In 1959, a little film titled, “If it’s Tuesday, This Must be Belgium” premiered releasing a funny, but somewhat inaccurate impression of guided/escorted tours (from schedules, experiences, and passenger profiles) creating a wave of misconceptions that are still held more than 50 years later.
Despite misconstrued theories that tours are for the unrefined and young-at-heart (read “old”), new generations of travelers are on the road. In fact, guided/escorted tours are on an upward swing. Today’s traveler varies in age, experience, curiosity and sophistication.
Whether traveling in a group (which can vary in size – some as few as eight people) or as a couple or individual – touring offers the opportunity to enjoy every moment of your vacation. Forget the hassles of everyday transportation, navigating destinations, and waiting in line – just enjoy the travel experience!
Trains, planes, ships – and yes – even walking tours of the world’s most famous and not so famous destinations.
