This blog is best described as the pre and post component of a journey that commenced in the Summer of 1958 and continues today – and hopefully well beyond.
This photo is me on an excursion to the Indiana Dunes – anticipating the picnic delights I was about to enjoy. When I was eight years old, my family and our neighbors, for the very first time, took a mere hour’s drive from our Southwest Chicago neighborhood to the Indiana Lake Michigan Dunes and all of its splendors.
Reflecting back I can truly say that this travel experience marked the beginning of my love – now my passion – for travel. My quest to make my 8th grade geography book dreams come true!
I hope to share my travel experiences with you via frequent posts and photos. In addition – I sincerely would like to hear from you about your travels. I derive such pleasure hearing from fellow travelers about their journeys and experiences – local, domestic, international – it’s all a wonder.
One very important thing I have learned on this sojourn – the people are always the privilege. I have been fortunate to have the privilege of coming to know two wonderful travel enthusiasts – Peg Haskins and Laura Lukasik of Viking Travel. Viking travel has been kind enough to grant me this platform , this takeoff pad to reach out to whoever cares to participate and travel along.
Please take a moment to view the Viking Travel web site and should you see a travel opportunity that interests you – contact a Viking Travel Advisor and tell them Larry sent you.
In all honesty I am not entirely sure where this road will lead – but I do know that I would enjoy very much hearing from you along the way.
